    • Colocasia Black Marble is an exotic and striking ornamental plant known for its dramatic, large, heart-shaped leaves with deep black and green marble-like veining. A stunning addition to any indoor or outdoor garden, its bold contrast and elegant foliage make it a favorite among plant enthusiasts. This tropical beauty thrives in warm, humid environments and prefers partial shade, making it ideal for shaded patios, containers, or lush garden beds.

    • 30-35cm Height.
    • 12cm pot.

    • Light: Colocasia 'Black Marble' prefers bright, indirect sunlight but can also tolerate partial shade. Avoid full shade as it might result in leggy growth. Place the plant in a location protected from strong winds, as large leaves can be easily damaged.
    • Soil: Colocasia thrives in rich, well-draining soil with high organic matter. If your garden soil is heavy (clay), improve it with compost or well-rotted manure to enhance drainage. This plant loves moisture, so waterlogged soils work well, but ensure it's not standing in water for long periods, especially in cold weather. Use mulch to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature, especially in drier months.
    • Regular Watering: Colocasia needs consistently moist soil, so water regularly, especially during dry spells. In the UK’s often wet climate, monitor rainfall to avoid overwatering.
    • Colocasia is vulnerable to root rot in cold, soggy conditions. Water sparingly in winter to keep the soil just damp, not wet.
    • Fertilization: Use a balanced, slow-release fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring to late summer). Alternatively, feed with a liquid fertilizer every two weeks.
    • Temperature: Colocasia 'Black Marble' is frost-sensitive. In the UK, temperatures can drop significantly in winter, so it's important to protect the plant.

    • Pruning: Prune any yellow or damaged leaves to keep the plant healthy and looking its best.

    • Overwintering: If you are growing Colocasia 'Black Marble' in containers, you can move the plant to a sheltered, frost-free location during the winter. Make sure it still gets some light and reduce watering. Alternatively you can dry store the corm once the plant has gone dormant.
