    • Oreocereus celsianus, commonly known as Old Man of the Andes or "Old Man Cactus," is a columnar cactus native to the Andes mountains of South America. Here are some general care instructions:

    • Light: Place your Oreocereus celsianus in a location where it can receive plenty of bright, indirect sunlight. While it can tolerate some direct sunlight, too much can scorch its delicate skin.

    • Temperature: These cacti prefer warm temperatures during the growing season (spring and summer) ranging between 21-29°C. During the winter, they can tolerate cooler temperatures down to 10°C. Protect them from freezing temperatures.

    • Watering: Allow the soil to dry out almost completely between waterings, then water thoroughly. During the active growing season (spring and summer), water more frequently, but still allow the soil to dry out between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to prevent root rot.

    • Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix. You can amend regular potting soil with sand or perlite to improve drainage.

    • Potting: Repot your Oreocereus celsianus every 2-3 years in the spring into a slightly larger pot if it has outgrown its current container. Be sure to use a well-draining pot and fresh potting mix.

    • Pruning: Minimal pruning is required for these cacti. Remove any dead or damaged stems using clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears.
