    • Planting location: Choose a spot with well-draining soil and good sunlight exposure. Trachycarpus fortunei can tolerate partial shade, but it prefers a location with at least a few hours of direct sunlight each day.

    • Soil: The soil should be well-draining to prevent waterlogged roots. Sandy loam with some organic matter mixed in works well for this palm.

    • Watering: While Trachycarpus fortunei is relatively drought-tolerant, regular watering is essential during dry spells, especially in the first couple of years after planting. Once established, they can tolerate some drought, but it's still important to keep them adequately watered during prolonged dry periods.
